Our project includes activities which will involve collection and processing of personal data. The personal information that will be collected and processed is relevant and limited to the purposes of the research project and broadly falls into the category of contact details, such as name, email address and phone numbers, company name, occupation, location.

Personal data are collected and processed by INAF as a data controller only for administrative purposes, in discharging its tasks that serve the public interest or are related to the exercise of its official authority.

The above-mentioned personal data are collected and processed for a range of reasons, including:

  • to send information for research purposes;
  • to respond to online inquiries and requests, and to provide data subjects with information and access to resources or services requested from INAF;
  • to manage INAF system administration and security;
  • to carry out research and development to improve INAF’s services;
  • to perform tasks carried out in the public interest, as well as other lawful purposes.

The personal data are only processed by INAF staff, acting on specific instructions concerning purposes and arrangements of such processing.

INAF takes appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, taking into account the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the personal information. The INAF’s network infrastructure is based on the national research network (NREN) GARR which is connected to the European research network GEANT.

INAF has adopted a “Data Breach Response Guide” (http://www.inaf.it/it/privacy/manuale-per-la-gestione-di-data-breach) and continuously trains employees on best security practices.

Your data will not be transferred to third countries outside the EU.

INAF guarantees the respect of the fundamental rights and freedoms and of the dignity of the data subject. Research participants may contact INAF directly at any time about accessing, correcting, updating, or deleting their personal information and objecting to the processing (pursuant to Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR). Data subjects may lodge all requests to exercise these rights by emailing the INAF’s DPO at rpd@inaf.it or rpd-inaf@legalmail.it (PEC-certified email).
